ABOUT

Classic rock merged with doom, stoner and a trace of prog

Ohmwork is a Norwegian power trio built around heavy riffs, hard hitting drum grooves, thunderous bass, energetic guitars and melodic vocals packed with hooks. Their sound combines the raw attitude and drive of classic rock with elements of doom, stoner and progressive rock.

Loud, heavy and unapologetic, Ohmwork delivers music with a "take no prisoners" attitude, while always keeping melody and strong songwriting at the core.

Eirik Dahl - drums

Established in Tromsø in April 2012, Ohmwork quickly developed a distinct identity through a relentless focus on riffs, groove and live energy. The band's early material was shaped in the rehearsal room, where jam sessions and spontaneous ideas became the foundation for their debut album, Storm Season, released in February 2014.

The years that followed saw a steady evolution in both sound and ambition. ShadowTech arrived in 2015, followed by the Mother City EP in 2016. The four tracks from the EP were later reworked and incorporated into the ambitious concept album Alyssa Drone, released in 2017 as a double vinyl on Rob Mules Records. The album was warmly received by both critics and fans.

In 2019, Ohmwork returned with the concept album HorrorWorks, once again pushing their heavy sound into darker and more atmospheric territory. The album was preceded by the single "Sleep Killing", while "The Octavius" and "The Ballad of Elisa Lam" were accompanied by visual releases.

During the pandemic, Ohmwork released Pareidolia in August 2021. Featuring Einar Petersen of Deception on drums, the nine track album continued the band's exploration of heavy riffs, groove and atmosphere. The singles "Liquid Fire" and "Hill of Tara" paved the way for the release.

In 2023, Ohmwork released "Adrift", featuring Kjetil Solberg of Violet Road on vocals. With Espen A. Solli on drums, the track marked another chapter in the band's development and has since been described by both fans and critics as one of Ohmwork's strongest songs to date.

The band's sixth album, In Hindsight, followed in October 2023 on Rob Mules Records. The album received some of the band's strongest reviews to date and was followed just two months later by the Fractions EP, showcasing a more mellow and restrained side of Ohmwork.

In early 2024, Eirik Dahl joined the band as the new drummer, completing the current lineup. Since then, Ohmwork has continued to develop its sound and strengthen its reputation as a powerful live act.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, the band toured extensively, playing venues and festivals across Norway and steadily expanding its audience. Ohmwork has also performed abroad and toured as support for artists including Bente Smaavik and Norwegian metal powerhouse Jørn Lande.

The next chapter began with the writing and recording of Ex Nihilo. Released in September 2026, the album sees Ohmwork embracing a heavier, more direct and stripped down sound built around the power of the trio. The road to the album was paved with six singles released throughout 2026, each offering a glimpse into a different side of the record and building momentum towards the full album release.

With Ex Nihilo, Ohmwork continues to refine what has always been at the heart of the band: massive riffs, groove, melody and the sheer force of three musicians playing loud.
